COMPANY DETAILS

Vintage Aircraft including Several Spitfires are now being restored by VMI Engineering in Hampshire. Following the companys successful involvement in Pre WW2 Aircraft type restorations, VMI has turned to more mainstream WW2 Fighter Aircraft. The company is now involved in Restoration, Repair and Fabrication of all levels for Vintage Aircraft.

Company Director Mr Ian Ward has acheived a goal in managing and maintaining a CAA Approved company involved with the restoration of Spitfires. The company spent Months collating technical Data for WW2 aircraft and when a premises was available the company invested a great deal of time and finance to furnish a workshop capable of building Spitfires and other WW2 Aircraft.

FACILITIES & CAPABILITIES

VMI Engineering Services is based in Aldershot Hampshire within a 2800 sq ft Industrial unit. This houses a vast array of fabrication and machining equipment. The company has the capabilities of Manufacture, Repair, Modification and Over-haul of Aircraft Components with a large loading door for ease of shipping of bulky items to and from the facility. The company can manufacture Jigs and specific tooling for works as and when required.

The Company owns many digitally scanned Drawings, Manuals, Servicing and Repair Notes. All procedures outlined by the CAA are observed with only approved spares and sub-contractors being used to complete the tasks undertaken.
The company has recently been successful in the application for A8-20 M5 Approval specifically orientated toward metal structures for all types listed on the capability list.
